Frequently asked questions.

Was living in Alaska miserable?

Surprisingly, even for this Florida girl, living in Alaska was a dream! During the summer, Anchorage sees 20 hours where the sun is above the horizon, but 24 hours of usable light. That means endless hours for adventure! It also means trouble sleeping if you forget to close the blackout curtains early enough.

Even during winter, where on the shortest day of the year, Anchorage saw 4 hours of light, it wasn’t miserable. As long as you stay positive, keep your sense of adventure, and make the best of those few hours you have, living in Alaska is a life-changing experience.

What kind of camera do you use?

I use a Sony A7rIII. My most frequent lens is the Sony FE 24-70 mm F2.8 GM.
When photographing wildlife and distant subjects, I use the Sony FE 100-400 mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS.

Where is your favorite place?

It’s impossible to choose one favorite place.

I love the coastal experiences in Seward, Alaska and Kenai Fjords National Park. Spending time on remote Fox Island, watching glaciers calve into the sea, spotting whales in the wild, and hearing them breathe, those are moments I will never forget.

Exploring all 92-miles of Denali National Park, spotting bears that are half a mile away, stumbling upon moose walking the road in the wee hours of the morning, admiring the morning colors on all 20,310 feet of Denali… nothing compares to wild backcountry Denali experiences.

My favorite place is where my heart feels adventure.
